The Moon-Spinners
The Moon-Spinners (1964) starring Hayley Mills, Eli Wallach and Peter McEnery.
I'm taking the whole "when you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" route on this one.
Summary (via) -
Based on the Mary Stewart novel of the same name, this film finds Mills and her aunt visiting a Cretan village on holiday. In the face of hostility from their innkeeper's brother (Eli Wallach), the pair befriend a fellow Brit. The young man's escapades with jewel thief Wallach draw a beguiled Mills into a sometimes perilous adventure involving a harrowing ride upon the sails of a windmill, hiding out in an underground crypt, and a showdown with a cheetah-loving millionairess (the scene-stealing Pola Negri) aboard her yacht.
I love Swiss Family Robinson so much, I saw Old Yeller many a time and I sat through at least a few viewings of The Parent Trap...... but other than that, I haven't seen very many of those sort of old live-action Disney movies. So, I thought I'd start watching some.
(Note - I consider movies like Bedknobs & Broomsticks and Mary Poppins to be in a whole other category.)
My first choice was one I'd never heard of before - this one. The fact that I hadn't heard of it should've told me something. Ha. This movie isn't exactly a treat. I'm interested in hearing if any of you guys used to watch it as kids in the same way I watched Swiss Family Robinson. I'm sorry for you if you did.
JK.
But. Yeah...... It's no SFR.
At least there's attractive scenery. Crete. The most insufferable pair on EARTH.
These guys were pretty cool.
