Summer Holiday

I watched Summer Holiday (1963) a few weeks ago and I've had the title song stuck in my head ever since. It's insanely catchy. See for yourself...

I told you. 

The gist of the plot: some young people go on a summer road trip through Europe in a double decker bus. One of the riders is a pop star on the run from her demanding mother. Hijinks. Corny/great songs. Etc.

Mr. Hobbs Takes A Vacation

And we continue the summer movie series with Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation (1962) starring Jimmy Stewart and Maureen O'Hara. A family vacation movie. 

My sister and I have watched The Great Outdoors dozens and dozens of times over the years ("Blow it out your ass, Uncle Roman!") - I prefer that family vacation, but Jimmy Stewart is always pretty delightful.
